Charcoal, natural pigment, rice paper and marble powder on wood panel
60 × 80 × 4 cm

Extension I is an original mixed-media artwork by Ekaterina Galera, created through a slow process of layering, sanding and refining the surface. Rice paper and marble powder create depth and texture, while the contrast between the delicate surface and the solid wood panel brings together lightness and strength.

The finished surface is protected with several layers of acrylic medium to ensure stability and durability over time. With its 4 cm depth, the work has the physical presence of both a painting and an object. Ready to hang, it can be displayed without a frame, either on its own or alongside other works from the series.
